| Our Pine, Fir
and Spruce trees and forests are a vital part of our homes,
business', ranches, cities and parks. Preservation has become
more important as the spread of Mountain, Pine, Western, Ips,
Spruce and bark beetles continue to increase. Many mountain
property owners and communities are taking aggressive steps
to preserve the beauty of their trees and forests. One important
step is the implementation of an integrated beetle control
program. A well-managed bark beetle control program also reduces
the high cost of tree removal.
Horizon Forestry™ specializes in safe and effective
controls to treat the outbreak and spread of Mountain, Pine,
Ips, Spruce and other bark beetles. Our staff can provide
a complete range of beetle controls tailored to meet the specific
needs of your property.
After inspection, our recommended treatments may include
thinning, removal
of infected trees, programmed
preventative pesticide application, systemic applications,
pheromone based preventatives, traps or attractants and foliar
or root fertilization.
A successful bark beetle pesticide application program has
four objectives;
- Diagnosis of the problem.
- The right chemical and rate.
- Proper timing.
- Thorough coverage.
These are essential and cannot be overemphasized. Any one
component is worthless without all the others. For example,
often a pest is correctly identified and the right chemical
chosen but the spray application does not provide thorough
coverage.
Our specialized High Volume High Pressure (HVHP)
and FMC Rotomist sprayers are capable of
effectively treating even the tallest Pine, Fir and Spruce
trees to label recommended coverages and we are able to operate
on slopes and under less than ideal site conditions.
Horizon Forestry™ can provide cost effective and competitive
beetle management solutions for individuals, homeowner's associations,
resorts, ski areas and ranches as well as local, state and
federal governmental agencies.
