| Horizon Forestry™
works with individuals, homeowner's associations, property
managers, resorts, ski areas and ranches as well as local,
state and federal agencies to provide site specific comprehensive
Beetle Surveys and Management Plans.
Beetle Surveys provide site specific data detailing current
beetle infestations, dead, hazard tree, forest over-crowding
and forest stressors as well as beetle infestations on adjacent
lands. The Beetle Survey creates an inventory of site forests,
high-value, specimen and old growth trees. The Survey details
forest composition including pine, spruce and deciduous make-up,
site terrain, drainage and protection of water resources.
Infra-red mapping, satellite imagery and GPS data may be incorporated
as necessary.
A Management Plan provides a detailed physical analysis of
the property incorporating information garnered from the Beetle
Survey to provide specific treatment recommendations for current
and expected beetle outbreaks.
The Management Plan provides a timeline for the effective
implementation of beetle controls which may include recommendations
on removal of infected trees, thinning for forest health,
foliar fertilization,
programmed preventative
pesticide application, specific pesticide suggestions
and application technologies for varying terrain, tree heights
and the protection of humans, livestock and water resources.
Beetle Surveys and Management Plans create a solid foundation
for the implementation of effective Mountain, Pine, Ips, Spruce
and other bark beetle controls.
